A little window into our world!

Now I’m committed to doing some portrait work in February I thought it time to brush up the skills a little!
Here’s a couple of ‘moody ‘ low key ones on my favourite models!!!

CBSO Christmas Concert

Happy Christmas to all those who didn’t get a card from me which will be quite a few as I didn’t buy any!

A little post as I’ve been a very proud Daddy this week when i got to see Lexi perform in the Children’s Choral Choir alongside the world class Birmingham Symphony Orchestra in no better place than the Symphony Hall itself.

The Acoustics in that building are amazing,  even on my iPhone I think you can get an idea of just how that sounded on the day, it was incredible and If I’m totally honest,  when it was the final Chorus and the huge crescendos’ it was a little bit emotional!

Seven years to the day that Mom passed away and I know she was there cheering them on!  She would have loved it!

We made a bit of a day of it and had a look round the German market,  the new Library building and then went Ice skating and a ride on the Ferris Wheel to see the sights of Birmingham from up above!

It was a great day and the highlight of Christmas so far.

Hope you all have a good one and a happy new year!

On here I can personally thank Mr ‘Shelly’  for the hard work in getting them all to this stage.  If it wasn’t for his dedication in encouraging and of course driving them back and forth to the middle of Birmingham I doubt we’d have got this far, so from me and all the other parents, Thanks !

Lexi’s Show-jumping career finally takes off!

After a little wobble earlier this year,  Lexi made a clear round at the show jumping place!  Woot Woot!

Can’t wait for her to get in the big girls class so that they don’t start so flippin early!

She had a team mate from School called Antonia and they both got round the course without a hitch.

Much of this success has to be down to Miss Deen who also cleared the jumps with out the aid of a horse in spectacular style!

See Video below of both girls who are looking forward to receiving their medals (rosettes) from Mr Walker during Assembly!

HDR (in the rain!)

Had a photowalk with my pal Beav! Great time being nerds, light was shite and wasn’t the best place but managed to produce this in Lightroom!

Detton Sunset Landscapes

I have to post these images as I’m so chuffed with them!
I went out walking the dog again the other night and chucked all the gear in the car as I intended to drive up to Catherton Common afterwards to try and capture a good Sunset.
I mis timed the whole thing and having left the tripod in the car decided to just have a go in the field at Detton instead! I couldn’t be bothered with filters and all that faff so I tried three bracketed shots, (one dark, one light and one normal) Once I got home the software Photomatix HDR merges these images together giving a huge range of exposure and colour to choose from. It actually does a pretty good job of picking the best mix but there are loads of alternatives to pick from and if you know what you re doing (I exclude myself from that description) you can adjust in minute detail.
I’ve posted these on Facebook and had loads of lovely comments, I also posted it into a competition and for a day or two I was third!! Ive slipped back a little now but hey!!!
Anyway, here they are!  Now that I know it works I’ll find some more beauty spots and have a go!

Ridin’ into Town!

Just like in the old Westerns! today we ‘Rode right into Town’!

Dropped off the car and trailer at the bus park and then went back for the nags!

All trooped into Cleobury along Max’s well trodden path!

No major incidents to report so that’s good isn’t it!!
