Photography Course

After about 4 or 5 years of owning a few decent Digital Cameras, reading several manuals and having what I call “mixed results” I finally took the plunge and enrolled in a photography course and went along on Sunday.

It was brilliant, a couple of ‘eureka moments’ for everyone I think and at last it all kind of makes sense now. I’m definitely hooked and intend to follow up with part two and a few other workshops now as the way this guy explains it is brilliant!

Here are a couple of the ones that I’m more proud of and hopefully you’ll notice the improvement over the next posts on here!

Any comments greatly appreciated!

Say Hello to Max

After what I can only describe as a ‘pause’ we decided to get another doggie.

Ellen spent many an hour on the iPad discreetly looking and emailing the Dobermann trust in Yorkshire. Then after a little last minute re-shuffle we set off on Saturday Morning to collect Max. He came lolloping out of his pen and promptly gave each of the girls a big lick and jumped up and gave me a cuddle. That sealed it! After sorting out all the necessaries we headed off back down south with this handsome lad in the back.

After about an hour though he decided that it looked much more comfortable in the back with the girls! In the end after lots of pushing, it made more sense to chuck all the gear in the boot and Max promptly settled in the middle and shared his time with each of the nice warm laps on offer!

All I can say is watch this space for many more photos to come!

Sports Day July 2012

Abberley Hall Pre-Prep Sports Day July 2012 from Gordon Jackson on Vimeo.

Pre-Prep's Sports Day at Abberley Hall School this July. In true tribute to the Olympics this year this is a fantastic Opening Ceremony. Boris would be jealous !

If you were there and talked to the photo people then you know what the password is,

If not email me and I’ll send it you.  Its full of the whole schools children so I had to limit it’s visibility.

Great day,  the forecast and the weather was atrocious so the whole event was quickly switched to indoors (Thank god!) and it worked extremely well.

A big thanks to all those who worked so hard to pull this off,  It was very entertaining.

Croft Castle

Fantastic Day out today.

Weather was fantastic, been waiting for this now for some months!

Ellen joined us all in the National Trust this Spring and I have to admit I thought it all sounded a bit dull!

I can vaguely remember being dragged around some old farts house with my parents and it was like watching paint dry!

Things are different now though, everyone made us very welcome and especially the children! The are quizzes and trails and just the right amount for them to do without turning the whole place into a theme park!

We’ve also sussed out the walks and where we can take the dog that we haven’t quite got yet so Ellen might even drag herself along next time (that is if she’s on the right end of a Doberman of course)!

I’m off on my photography course on Sunday so thought I needed some more practice at all this Aperture and shutter speed business! I haven’t touched these pictures, honest! So I’m quite chuffed with the results so far.

Sunny Days are here at last!

At last the weather has turned for the better!

Didn’t hang around, meals outside, walks over the common.

Been practising my photography skills!

Lexi working in the garden with her Lizard keeping an eye on things!
